Wedding Policy

Recent changes to the law have made it much easier to get married at All Saints' Church, Stranton. If either of you has one of the following six connections with Stranton, there should not be any problems. One of you: One of your parents, at any time after you were born: One of your parents or grandparents:

If none of the above apply to either of you, don't despair. It only means that one of you will have to regularly go to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months. In practice that means that one of you will have to visit a service, at least once a month, over a period of six month before your wedding date.

Closer to the time of your wedding you will be invited to a Wedding Preparation Event.

If you have been married before, the Bishop's special permission is required. This means that you will have to be interviewed by the Vicar. Please let us know if this applies to you.

Wedding Fees

For 2020 the fee for a Wedding at Stranton is £579. This includes the fee set centrally by the Church of England and fees for the officiating minister, the verger and the organist and any heating, should it be required.
