Please check here for any changes to this weeks services.
Our usual pattern of worship (8am, 9:15am, and 11am) has been changed to the following pattern during the interegnum. Please contact the staff team with any feedback which would be gratefully received:
SUNDAYS
8.30am: Holy Communion
A quiet, reflective, said service (no music), using the traditional words of the Book of Common Prayer.
10:30am Morning Worship
I mix of communion and service-of-the-word – Liturgy is in a modern tradition with music led by the music group and/or choir. This service caters for all ages. Most weeks, we worship together for part of the time, then the children’s groups meet separately, except on the third Sunday, when the children and adults stay together for the whole service for our Lighthouse service. On the first Sunday of every month is a Service of the Word with a sermon and children's groups. On the second and fourth Sundays in every month, the service is Holy Communion. If there is a fifth Sunday, then the service is usually an "All-Age" Communion service. Crèche facilities are available, on a self-help basis.
11.00am: Burbank Community Church
(meeting at Ward Jackson primary School on Tower Street). An informal service of worship, again catering for all ages. There is Holy Communion once a month, usually on the second Sunday.
4.00pm: Messy Church:
On the first Sunday of the month Messy Church meets at St Matthew's Community Centre, Elwick Road. This is new style of church for children and their parents/carers, based around crafts and all-age worship, with food afterwards.
MIDWEEK
Wednesdays at 10.00am:
a traditional said service of Holy Communion, using the Book of Common Prayer. This service takes place at St Matthew’s Community Centre on Elwick Road.
Morning Prayer
There is a short service of prayer in church every weekday morning from 8.00am to 8.30am, when we read the Bible and bring to God the needs of the world, out community and our church. Sometimes on a Wednesday this meeting is held elsewhere, sharing with other local churches; the notice sheet has details.
